Description |
Fay Sproule has been associated with the visual arts scene in Mississauga for over thirty years. Primarily known for her watercolours, Sproule utilizes the medium's fluidity to create landscapes filled with a warm, summer-light lit atmosphere. She was a founding chairperson of Visual Arts Mississauga and has been an active volunteer and advisor for the Mississauga Arts Council and the Art Gallery of Mississauga. Acting on advisory boards, she has been integral in the development of the Blackwood Gallery at the University of Toronto in Mississauga Biographical Information: Sproule has had solo exhibitions of her work extensively across the Greater Toronto region. As a member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour she has shown across Canada, in the United States, and around the world. She is an active instructor, having taught painting at the Blue Mountain School of Landscape Painting, Collingwood; Corfu, Greece; Foundation d'art de la Napoule, France; Sheridan College, Oakville; Sir Sanford Fleming School of Art, Haliburton; and at Visual Arts Mississauga. |
