Description |
In Beaver Casino, Adams offers a casino for the Great North, an imaginative hybrid of Las Vegas baroque and any of the "world's largest" roadside attractions you might see when driving across Canada. This print, a proposal of sorts, might serve a purpose similar to that of an architectural model. It affords a point from which we might speculate on how particularly inventive structures can radically alter a landscape and its communities. Biographical Information: Kim Adams is a Canadian artist. With his combination of densely industrialized miniature model landscapes and hybrid vehicular sculptures, the work of Kim Adams is among the most recognizable in contemporary Canadian Art. Adams has exhibited his work nationally and internationally since the late 1970s. His work has been featured in some of the most prestigious international art exhibitions including the Sydney Biennale of Contemporary Art in Australia and the Skulptur Projekte 97 in Germany. Adams lives and works in Grand Valley, Ontario. |
