Description |
Neubauer's shapes reflect a mediation between both realism and abstraction. Exploring the ephemeral attributes of an image, Neubauer allows her works to emerge through additive and subtractive principals, bringing out a tenuous play between absolutes. In this early series, Neubauer's shell -like shapes brings viewers to a state of visual and mental tranquility, mimicking the endless interpretations of ink blot tests. Movement also plays a key role in Neubauer's work. Through repetition and imagination, the artist treats her shapes like physical objects, as though they could be manipulated, recaptured and reanimated.
