Description |
Broadworth's paintings are plugged into the most advanced of today's digital realities while channelling currents unknown to us. His brushwork and gesture enable agile grid-work that outpaces and displaces a formal tradition of painting while still figuring within it. Felon (1998) is a large canvas with smaller canvas attatched on upper left corner. Jordan Broadworth was born in Esquesing, Ontario in 1968. He studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design prior to graduating from the University of Guelph's Master of Fine Art program in 1997. In addition to painting, Broadworth is a curator and writer based in New York City. His paintings are included in collections in North America, Europe, and the UK. |
