Description |
Ground Cover III is a delicate floral image with abstracted bursts of luscious colour. The surface of the work is incredibly textured and robust, inviting the viewer to become immersed in the natural aesthetic. Margaret Squire's work is characterised by bright colours and bold brush strokes. Ground Cover III is a floral image with abstracted bursts of colour. The surface of the work is layered and robust, mimicking the natural texture and surface of its subject matter. Biographical Information: Margaret Squire studied at the University of Western Ontario, as well as the Ontario College of Art where she took courses in watercolour. She was the president of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour from 1995 -97, and an elected member of the Colour and Form Society in 1985. She has shown in group exhibitions at the Ontario Society of Painters in Water Colour, the Tom Thompson Gallery, the Art Gallery of Mississauga, as well as the Royal Botanical Gardens Centre. Margaret's work can be found across Ontario in private, corporate, and public collections. |
