Description Eileen Oswald was born in Edmonton, Alberta living in Saskatoon and Calgary before settling in Mississauga, Ontario. The colour and aesthetics in our daily environment have always fascinated her. As an artist, Oswald's work possesses a keen awareness of the colours, designs, and textures of nature and their emotional influence. She is an experimental painter who enjoys the freedom of exploring many different media and techniques . A few of the materials that she works with include pastel, inks, watercolour media, acrylics, oils, encaustic, and printmaking.

Biographical Information:

Oswald has been very active in the promotion of the art scene in Mississauga and Ontario. She served as a director on the Board of the Mississauga Arts Council from 1999 to 2007. Prior to that Oswald held the position of Chair of Fine Arts on the Mississauga Arts Awards Committee and also served on the executive of the Pastel Artists Canada and Clarkson Art Society. In addition, Oswald as well as sharing experiences by teaching and mentoring. She has achieved Master Pastelist status with Pastel Artists of Canada and is a signature member of Colour and Form Society. In both 2008 and 2009, Oswald was a finalist in the Established Artist Category of the Mississauga Arts Council "Marty's ". In 2010 she was the recipient of the "Laurie Pallett Patron of the Arts" Award. Her paintings are in many private, public, and corporate collections in Canada, United States, England, Switzerland and Australia. Collections include the Art Gallery of Mississauga, University of Toronto, Geological Dept., Inacom Information Systems, Mobile Direct, Kim Copetti, Accounting Services, Trillium Health Centre, and Ontario Power Generation.
